Skin Care

There are 4 essential components of a good skin care regimen:

Growth factors and peptides help your skin stimulate collagen and / or elastin in the skin to help lessen fine lines and wrinkles, tighten the skin, and diminish scarring.

Retinoids are a type of antioxidant. Retinoids improve fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production and promoting rapid cell turnover and the growth of new blood vessels. They decrease the appearance of abnormal pigmentation and smooth rough skin and clogged pores.

Antioxidants help maintain skin health. Antioxidants neutralize oxygen free radicals formed as a result of exposure to ultraviolet light, pollution and other environmental insults. This damage is different from the direct damage that UV light makes on our DNA from which we protect our skin with sunscreen. By neutralizing the free radicals, antioxidants prevent collagen breakdown and prevent generation of abnormal pigment in the skin.

Sunscreen is perhaps the most crucial part of your skin care regimen. We recommend a broad spectrum (blocks both UVA and UVB wavelengths), SPF 30-50 sunscreen. Sunscreen can both prevent DNA damage and decrease the risk of skin cancer and prevent collagen breakdown, brown spots and other signs of aging.
